Each retreat is carefully guided, trauma-informed, and rooted in Christian Scripture, offering a hospitable container where presence matters more than progress.

About This Retreat

Grief often resists words. It lingers in the body, the imagination, the places language cannot reach.

Giving Shape to Sorrow is a guided grief art retreat that invites you to externalize what feels heavy through simple, non-interpretive creative practices held in prayerful silence.

This is not art for display or explanation.
It is art as attentiveness before God.

Rather than asking you to analyze or resolve grief, this retreat creates room for sorrow to be acknowledged, held, and gently shaped—without pressure to make meaning or move on.

What to Expect

This 90-minute guided online retreat includes:

• Scripture readings woven throughout

• Simple creative prompts using a limited palette

• Extended time for quiet making

• Spacious silence and unhurried pacing

• Optional reflection via chat

Cameras are optional. Sharing is always optional.

Nothing needs to be beautiful.
Nothing needs to make sense.

The Container

To care well for this shared space:

• This is not therapy or a grief support group

• There is no group processing

• No artistic skill is required

• Participation may be entirely quiet

• My role is to offer structure, theological grounding, and a safe, attentive space—trusting God to meet each person personally

Listening, making, and resting are all forms of prayer.
